1. Objective

 The project SITCUO is being developed to form an Intelligent Transportation System for the bus monitoring through the technologies of telecommunication (GPS, Cellular Telephone etc. ) and information (WEB, Data Warehouse etc.)  to supply the information of the urban transportation to public passengers, transportation company and the organ of government.

  • Project of CNPq/UnB/UofC (proc. 200923/01-3): "Paramics microscopic traffic simulation model for the evaluation of urban Intelligent Transport System applications", post-doctor research, 2001 - 2003.
  • Project of CNPq/UnB (proc. 300585/94-2): "Information System of   Urban  Public Bus Transportation with Business Intelligence Solution - SITCUO", 2001 - 2003.

2. Prototype and system

 Discretion of the operation of the system

  • An electronic kit with GPS, computer and interlinked fax/modem with a line of cellular telephone installed in a bus to receive information of GPS and send the information to the control center ;

  • Computer in control center receives the information and it processes through a special software to define the positioning of the vehicle and to estimate the time that the vehicle should arrive to the defined point with an installed panel;

  • The information are transmitted of the computer in the center of control, through the cellular, for the panel in the bus stop;

Discretion of the Information system

  • The information system of SITCUO is developed using WEB, Database/Data Warehouse and Data Mining methods with the implementation of SQL Server, DB2, JAVA, JSP etc.

  • The main components of the system are SQL Server 7.0 and DB2, Connection manager, Class of Connection, ClasseDB, JavaBeans, and JavaServer page (JSP).
